John O'Donovan writing in the 1830s (O'Flanagan, 1931, vol. 1, 29-30) says that there was a church and graveyard at Brideswell. Although the church had been removed the site was well known at the time and it was reported that bones had been found there. This must be in the vicinity of the well (RO048-108001-), but there is no evidence of either feature there now.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
