Two houses are marked at Tobberbridy on the Strafford map of c. 1636 (Simington 1949, Athlone 100)). Could one of these be (RO048-188----)? Philip Dowel owned 161 acres at Tobberbreedy alias the Well in 1641 and this land was held by Sir Luke Dowdall in the 1660s (ibid. 99). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
