What is recorded here

On a SE-facing slope, c. 80m WNW of fortified house (RO048-119001-) and overlooking it. It is visible on aerial photographs (CUCAP: BDO 35, 36) from the 1970s. This is a rectangular platform (dims of top 19m NE-SW; 14m NW-SE; H c. 2m) with stone facing on all sides except the NW where there is a fosse. Its NW and SE edges were overlain by stone banks. It may have been a gun-platform, but it has been removed since 1995. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
