In an undulating landscape. An area of about 50 acres (c. 20 ha) containing irregular fields (dims c. 20m x 10m to c. 50m x c. 20m). The fields are defined by grass-covered earth and stone banks (Wth c. 2-3m; H c. 0.5m) with some scrub which seem to relate to the contours. The fields are not marked on the 1837 or 1915 eds of the OS 6-inch map. At the NW end there are larger rectangular fields (dims c. 100m x c. 50-60m), which are generally aligned NW-SE, the same as the modern drystone walled fields. No house sites or lazy beds are visible within the area.
