What is recorded here

Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in italic lettering as 'Standing Stone'. It is situated on the crest of a low N-S ridge, which had been quarried, and there are local reports of the discovery of burials (RO048-074002-) at the location. The stone was moved from its original position and is now re-erected nearby in a field wall. It is a limestone pillar (dims 0.35m x 0.25m; H 1.25m).
