Marked as a circular wooded enclosure on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a subrectangular feature (dims c. 45m N-S; c. 40m E-W) on the 1915 ed. Situated in an undulating landscape, it is described locally as an area defined by an earthen bank that was covered in trees. It is not visible now at ground level in pasture, and it may have been a tree-ring.
