What is recorded here

On a gentle S-facing slope. This is an area of about 7.5 acres (c. 3 ha) containing small fields defined by drystone walls which are still upright and functional on aerial photograph (CUCAP: APH 48) and the fields are mapped on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. There are no dwellings present and the fields are irregularly shaped (dims c. 20-30m x c. 40-50m). There is no evidence of lazy-beds in the photograph but the fields are likely to be 18th or 19th century in date. This area is now reclaimed pasture and no features remain to be seen.
