On the crest at the S end of a slight NW-SE spur, and described as 'Kilcommon Fort' in gothic lettering on the OS 6-inch maps. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 79.8m N-S; 79.1m E-W) defined by a grass and scrub-covered bank (at ESE: Wth 4.7m; H 0.2-0.5m) ENE-SSE surviving E of a N-S field wall. Elsewhere the perimeter is defined by a scarp (H 0.2-0.5m). There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. Kilcommon church (RO045-116001-) is immediately to the S.
