What is recorded here

Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a slight NE-facing slope in a low-lying landscape. Circular grass and moss-covered mound with a dished top (diam. of base 14m NE-SW; 13.4m NW-SE; dims of top 6.2m NE-SW; 4.3m NW-SE; H 1m at SW to 1.4-1.6m) separated by a fosse (Wth of base 1.9-2.2m; D 0.3-0.8m) from an outer bank (Wth of base 3.5-4.2m; ext. H 0.2-0.4m). There is no visible entrance and the outer bank is truncated slightly by a NW-SE lane at W (max. ext. diam. 26.4m NW-SE). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
