What is recorded here

Marked as a small island on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a rise at the SW shore of the turlough Lough Croan (dims c. 3 km NW-SE; c. 200-300m NE-SW). This is a circular spread of boulders (diam. 25m N-S; 25m E-W) on a grass-covered rise (H 0.45m) with some distinctive boulders on the perimeter, but there is no clear evidence of artificial construction. Crannog (RO044-088----) is c. 100m to the N. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
