What is recorded here

Marked as in use on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the summit of a broad hill. A tapering windmill (ext. diam. of base 6.4m; H 6m) of three storeys. There is a doorway (Wth 1.05m; H 1.85m) at SE with an inscription 'SEP 1818 IN' on the N side of the door jamb. There are two beam-holes for bracing machinery, and a single window on the ground floor. There is a rebate for the first floor which has three plain windows. The second floor was supported on joists set into the wall and has one window. It was conserved in the 1990s.
