What is recorded here

At the crest of the NW-facing slope of a hill. Known locally to have been an O'Kelly castle, there are no historical references except that in 1641 136 acres there were owned by William Roe Mc Rory Kelly and John Mc Colla Kelly (Simington 1949, 120). Rectangular grass-covered mound (dims 24m NE-SW; 23.5m NW-SE; max. H 2m) of earth and stone with numerous quarry holes, but no wall faces can be seen.
