What is recorded here

On the N-facing slope of a plateau of karst limestone. An area of c. 23 ha (c. 90 acres) contains some large rectangular fields (dims c. 100m x c. 50m) but there are also numerous smaller rectangular or irregularly-shaped fields (dims c. 30-40m x 30-40m). The fields are defined by grass and fern-covered stone spreads (Wth 2-3m; H 0.2-0.4m). The cashel (RO036-018002-) within the complex is connected to a field wall, and cashel (RO036-018005-) at its S extent is also connected to field walls. The road (RO036-018001-) is integral to the fields but some field walls overlie it. One house site (RO036-018004-) (int. dims 7m E-W; 3.7m N-S) defined b y a double-faced stone wall (Wth 0.8m) with an entrance (Wth 0.7m) at the W end of the N wall has been identified, but there may be others.
