What is recorded here

On a gentle S-facing slope. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 71.4m E-W; 63m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.9-6.3m; int. H 0.6-1.7m; ext. H 1.4-2m) which is reduced to a scarp (H 1.1m) SE-SW where the monument is truncated by an ENE-WSW road. An overgrown rounded fosse (at W: Wth of top 6.7m; Wth of base 3.4m; D 1.3m) survives SW-NNW but originally surrounded the entire monument and is visible on aerial photograph (CUCAP: BDV 26) from c. 1973. There is an entrance (Wth 2.4m) at NNW. Rath (RO035-039----) is c. 150m to the WSW. Archaeological monitoring (10N0023) of two small trenches in the fosse and outside it just W of the entrance produced no related material (McCarthy 2010).
