What is recorded here

At the crest of the E-facing slope of a narrow valley (Wth c. 50m) of a small N-S stream c. 15m to the E. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 34.9m N-S; 33.8m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.4-4.1m; int. H 0.1-0.25m; ext. H 0.85-1.6m), which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.5m) E-S-W. There is an outer fosse (Wth of top 6-6.6m; Wth of base 2.2-3.1m; D 0.2-0.5m) SE-S-NW which is reduced to a berm (Wth 4.5m) defined by the natural scarp down to a stream NE-SE (max. ext. dim. 47.5m E-W). The perimeter of the platform is cut back S-WSW and quarried at NNE. There are entrances at WNW (Wth 1m) and S (Wth 2m). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
