What is recorded here

Marked only on the 1929 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as an oval area (dims c. 25m E-W; c. 20m N-S), and situated on a very slight S-facing slope at the SW base of a NW-SE ridge. D-shaped grass-covered platform (dims c. 20m WNW-ESE; 16.5m NNE-SSW) defined by a steep-sided, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of base 2-2.2m; int. D 1m; ext. D 0.9-1m) NNW-E which is probably re-cut and which opens into a quarry (Wth 10m) at S and W. There are remnants of an earthen bank (Wth 4.2m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 1.2m) inside the fosse at E, and spoil creates a modern causeway at ESE. It is circumscribed by a field bank S-NW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
