On the summit of Slieve Bawn, beneath a Holy Year cross which was erected in 1950. The name Slieve Bawn is derived from Siabh Baghda or Baghdna, and might have originated in the name of the Pagan war goddess Badh (Kelly 2006). It is described locally as a cairn which pre-dated the cross, it is visible as a grass-covered, flat-topped and stony platform (dims of base 8.4m E-W; 8m N-S; dims of top 5.5m NE-SW; 3.5m NW-SE; H 0.1-0.3m).
