What is recorded here

There is a sketch of a stone (L 1.5m) set on edge against a field bank in Trila townland on a shelf of the E-facing slope of Slieve Bawn (Gannon 1972). It appears to have a perforation, and is unlikely to be a bullaun stone. It may be a pier of a gate. It was not encountered. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
