Marked as a small island (dims c. 20m NE-SW; c. 15m NW-SE) in a small lake (diam. c. 300m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on low-lying boggy ground on the NW bank, and near the headwaters, of the SW-NE Scramoge stream. It is not visible at ground level in pasture.
