Marked as a small island (diam. c. 10m) off the W coast of a larger island (diam. c. 100m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The larger island is now a promontory projecting W into the W end of Cloonfree Lough (dims. c. 1 km E-W; c. 200m N-S at E to c. 500m N-S at W), absorbing the location of the original feature which is not visible at ground level.
