Marked as on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is described as 'Old Kiln' in italic lettering, and situated on a S-facing slope overlooking the W end of Shad Lough. It was associated with Briarfield House c. 60m to the N which, together with all its surrounds, have been removed without trace.
