What is recorded here

Visible on aerial photograph (OSAP: 4205), and situated at the S edge of a broad plateau. Rectangular grass-covered area (27.5m WNW-ESE; 20m NNE-SSW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-4m; H 0. 2-0.3m). The S end of the E side is overlain by the W end of a three-roomed house (RO028-168004-) (ext. dims 16.4m E-W; 6.2m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.2-1.5m; H 0.2m). N of the house site is a small rectangualar enclosure (RO028-168005-) (dims. c. 20m N-S; 17m E-W) defined by relict field banks (Wth 3m; H 0.3m) at E and N and which has a ditch (Wth of base c. 1m; D 0.2m) internally on each side. The rectangular enclosure was integrated with a field system (RO028-168002-) of rectangular fields (dims c. 100m x. c. 50m) covering an area of about 25 acres (c. 10 ha) and a pitfield (RO028-168003-) of c. 100 pits aligned WNW-ESE, parallel to the field banks, both of which can no longer be seen at ground level in reclaimed pasture.
