On the gentle SE-facing slope of a broad hill and within the moated site (RO028-165001-). Magnetic gradiometry conducted by the Discovery Programme in 2008 revealed an earlier circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) inside the NW angle, undoubtedly a rath. (www.discoveryprogramme.ie)
