What is recorded here

On a gentle N-facing slope at the head of a SE-NW valley. An area of about 16 acres c. 6.5 ha) contains rectangular fields (dims c. 20m x 50m to c. 100m x c. 100m) defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 3m; H 0.5m). A house site (RO028-121002-) (int. dims 11m NE-SW; 2.7m E-W) defined by a stone wall footing (Wth 0.9-1.4m; H 0.2m) has one long wall parallel with a field bank connecting to the SW angle of enclosure (RO028-121001-), and a sweat-house (RO028-121006-) visible as a mound (diam. 3m; H 1m) with a central hollow (diam. 1.6m) is built into this bank. Archaeological testing (01E0932) at the E edge of the fields failed to produce any related archaeological evidence (Rooney 2003a). See the attached aerial view taken from the NE.
