On the N-facing slope of a NW-SE ridge. An area of about 40 acres (c. 17 ha) once contained pits (dims c. 7m x 3.5m to c. 12m x 4m; D c. 0.5m) placed c. 10m apart in 5 or 6 lines aligned E-W on the contours of a NE-facing slope (OSAP: 4200). This area is now reduced to about 15 acres (c. 6 ha).
