On a gentle W-facing slope of the broad WNW-ESE Carnfree ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 43.5m NNW-SSE; 43m WNW-ESE) defined by a slight scarp (H 0.2-0.4m), with slight traces of a fosse (Wth c. 9m) at NW and NE. It is overlain by a WNW-ESE field wall and townland boundary with Carrowgarve at N. Rath (RO028-059001-) is c. 30m to the WNW. (Herity 1987a, fig. 27, Lismurtagh 2).
