What is recorded here

On a rise of a broad plateau. Raised D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 49m ENE-WSW; 34m NNW-SSE) defined by a scarp (H 1.3-1.8m), with slight traces of a bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.3m) NNE-E and WSW-WNW, separated by a rounded fosse (Wth of top 6-7.2m; Wth of base 2-3.5m; D 0.2-0.9m) from an outer bank (Wth 3m; H 0.2m) which only survives NNE-ENE and SSW-SW. The entrance ramp (Wth 1.3m) and causeway (Wth 4m) are at W. The site is truncated by a quarry at N (L 30m), and it is surrounded by a field bank SW-N-SE. The later field system (RO027-056002-) is c. 100m to the NE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
