Located on a S-facing slope and at the NE side of a NW-SE laneway. A limestone slab (dims 0.55m x 0.15m; H 0.85m) with an inscription commemorating Fr. Augustine Plunkett and the date 1723 (Gormley 1989, 79-81; Mannion 1998, 143) is placed on an earthen mound (RO027-025002-) (dims 4.7m E-W; 3m N-S; H 0.8m) or fragment of an earthen bank with a stone facing. Fr. Plunkett was born c. 1665-70 at the Plunkett house in Castleplunket (RO027-028001-) c. 1km to the S. The memorial was conserved in AD 2000 when a protective stone wall was added (Tiernan 2016). The inscription reads (ibid.): Pray for ye soul of Fr. / Augustine Plunkett (O) / SA. He caused ye croz / to be made in memory / of himself and his / friends Anno Dom 1723 / Fryer of Bellahaunes.
