Located towards the W edge of Cloonshannagh bog, with platform (RO024-036----) c. 11m to the WNW, platform (RO024-037----) c. 7m to the SE, and platform (RO024-041----) c. 32m to the NE. This site was exposed in a drain face, 0.60m below the field surface. The platform (Wth 3.05m; T 0.75m) was orientated E-W and was composed of moderately well preserved transversely laid roundwood underlain by longitudinally laid roundwood and brushwood. The longitudinal elements were predominantly located on the northern side of the feature. The elements were sparsely laid 0.01 to 0.30m apart with the uppermost layer of transverse roundwood located 0.20m above the lower transverses. The roundwood and the brushwood ranged from 0.06 to 0.09m and from 0.01 to 0.05m in diameter, respectively. The underlying peat was composed of moderately humified Sphagnum-rich peat with moderate Calluna and Eriophorum inclusions. Compiled by: Ros O Maoldúin/Michael Moore Date of upload: 14th April, 2011
