What is recorded here

This platform (Wth 4.64m; T 0.15m) was located approximately 4m S of a section of togher (RO024-024----) and was visible in a drain face, 0.33m below the field surface. It was orientated NW-SE and was composed of moderately well preserved transversely laid brushwood underlain by longitudinally laid roundwood and brushwood. The elements were densely laid up to 0.19m apart. The roundwood and brushwood ranged from 0.06 to 0.08m and from 0.01 to 0.05m in diameter, respectively. The peat was composed of poorly humified Sphagnum-rich peat with frequent Eriophorum and Calluna inclusions. Compiled by: Ros O Maoldúin/Michael Moore Date of upload: 13th April, 2011
