What is recorded here

First identified by Steve Davis from LiDAR images (Pers. Com. 2015), it is situated in pasture in a slight E-W valley at the bottom of a N-facing slope, with a small canalised E-W steam c. 25m to the N. This is a subcircular grass-covered mound (dims 13m E-W; 11m N-S; H 0.2m at S to 0.85m at N) with a small detached mound (diam. 5m) just to the E. Heat-shattered stone can be detected, and what is probably a palaeo-channel (Wth 3.5m; D 0.3m) curves around the mound E-S-WNW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 5 August, 2016
