What is recorded here

At the E end of a low WNW-ESE drumlin ridge, on the E-facing slope. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 34.7m N-S; 30.2m E-W) defined by an earthen bank with scrub (Wth 3.5-5.7m; int. H 0.2-0.8m; ext. H 0.7-1.1m), and an outer fosse (Wth of top 4-6.2m; Wth of base 2-3m; D 0.6m) SE-NE. There is no identifiable original entrance, and much of the interior has been dug out (D c. 0.7m), but there is a record in 1982 of a platform of stones, perhaps a house site (RO023-178002-), inside the perimeter at SE (SMR file). Rath (RO023-179----) is c. 160m to the SE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
