Probably the site of the parish church of Kilverdon (RO023-138002-), listed as Cloon in Bernan in the ecclesiastical taxation of Elphin in 1306 when it was described as deserted (Cal. doc. Ire., vol. 5, 223). Marked similarly on the 1837 and 1914 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a slight N-facing slope. Rectangular area (dims c. 40m E-W; c. 35m N-S) defined by masonry walls (Wth 0.5m; H 1m) with a gateway in the N wall. There is no evidence of a church, and the headstones are largely early 20th century in date. Archaeological testing (02E1518) c. 30-70m to the N failed to produce any related material (Read 2004a). Rath (RO023-139----) is c. 140m to the SSE.
