What is recorded here

First identified in an unpublished archaeological LiDAR report (Davis, 2015) commissioned by Roscommon County Council as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment for the N5 Ballaghaderreen - Scramoge road development. It is located in rough pasture on a low E-W ridge. This is a D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 29m N-S; 22m E-W) defined by a scarp that increases from NE (at E: Wth 3m; H 0.4m) around to SW (at: S: Wth 6m; H 1.05m). There is no visible fosse or an identifiable original entrance, but it is truncated by an E-W field bank at N and a N-S field bank at W.
