What is recorded here

Towards the E end of a low E-W ridge. Subcircular raised and grass-covered platform (dims 42m E-W; 37.7m N-S; H 2m at S to 3.3m at N) defined by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 7.5m at E to 13.5m at W; Wth of base 3.3m at E to 6.8m at W; D 0.9-1m) which is separated by a berm (Wth 2-3m) from an outer bank (Wth 2-3m; H 0.2-0.7m) SW-N-SE that is incorporated into a field bank NW-NE. The outer bank has been removed SE-SW by an E-W field bank which curtails the fosse here (max. ext. dims 70.5m N-S; 68.7m E-W), and there is a modernised ramp entrance (Wth 6.3m) at S. Standing stone (RO022-107005-) is on the outer bank at SE, and souterrain (RO022-107002-) is at the edge of the platform at W. Rath (RO022-057065-) is c. 250m to the W, and souterrain (RO022-108002-) is c. 220m to the E. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
