On a knoll on the N-facing slope of Rathcroghan ridge. The barrow (RO022-056035-) is within an oval enclosure (RO022-056052-), which is within a larger outer enclosure (dims. 74.7m N-S; 51.5m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.2-0.4m) at the base of the knoll, although the perimeter may be incorporated into the S bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.8m) of the road (RO022-056033-) which overlies the outer enclosure at its S end. There is a fragment of an earthen bank (Wth 4.5m; H 0.9m) on the line of the outer enclosure at W where the knoll has been quarried and the perimeter of the outer enclosure is also quarried at N.
