What is recorded here

At the W end of a WNW-ESE ridge. Subcircular grass-covered platform (dims 35m NNE-SSW; 31.2m WNW-ESE) with a slight bank on the perimeter (Wth c. 2m; int. H 0.3m) WNW-ENE, defined by a complete flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 7.4-9m; Wth of base 2.5-3.5m; int. D 2-2.7m; ext. D 1.7-2m). There is an entrance ramp (Wth 3.5m) and causeway (Wth 7.5m) at SSE which might not be original as the fosse SSE-SW has been quarried, and a large pond has cut back the platform SW-NW. A WNW-ESE field bank overlies the platform S of the centre (max. ext. dim. 51.4m NNE-SSW). See the attached aerial image taken from the NE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
