The souterrain was always accessible inside the bank of rath (RO021-042039-) at SW. It consists of a lintelled chamber entered at NE with an air-vent (Wth 0.35m; H 0.26m; L 1.05m) in the back wall which emerges on the bank of the rath. The full extent of the souterrain was exposed (11E0330) and recorded by Niall Brady, for which see: Excavations.ie (2011:530). It consists of an entrance passage (L 4.8m), a creep (L 1.6m), and a lintelled chamber (L 4.8m; Wth 1.1m; H 1.15m) with an air-vent in the end-wall that emerges on the outer face of the rath bank. Five narrow steps lead down to the floor of the unroofed entrance passage (D 1.6m).
