At the outer edge of a shelf towards the bottom of a N-facing slope. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 35.9m E-W; 35.4m N-S), which remains unplanted in a coniferous forest, defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-3.6m; int. H 0.3m at E to 0.8m generally; ext. H 1.1-1.4m) NE-S-NW. The outer fosse (at W: Wth of top 5.8m; Wth of base 2.4m; D 1m) is bordered by a field bank SW-NW, and represented by a band of rushes (Wth 2-5.5m) NE-S-SW. The entrance (Wth 2.2m) and causeway (Wth 3.5m) are at SSW, while the perimeter is truncated (L 24m) by an E-W road bank at N. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
