What is recorded here

First identified in an unpublished archaeological LiDAR report (Davis, 2015) commissioned by Roscommon County Council as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment for the N5 Ballaghaderreen - Scramoge road development. It is situated in pasture on a level landscape. The LiDAR image depicts a circular platform (diam. c.30m) defined by a fosse feature (Wth c. 7m) and an outer bank feature (Wth c. 8m). The edge of the central platform can be detected as a slight scarp (Wth 4m; H 0.3m) N-NE, but no other evidence of what appears to be a ring-barrow is visible at ground level. It is overlain by a N-S field bank W of the centre. Date of revised upload: 3 July, 2017

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
