Built by Edward Synge, Church of Ireland Bishop of Elphin, c. 1750 (Rynne 2006, 25). Described as in ruins on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a level landscape. A restored tower mill (int. diam. c. 4m; H c. 8m) of three storeys, with lintelled doorways (Wth 1.15m) at E and W. It is lit by small rectangular windows at the first and second floors and has a thatched roof, sails and a rotating cap. It stood on a mound (RO016-102001-) (diam. 32m E-W) defined by a fosse (Gannon 1972), but the mound is no longer visible.
