What is recorded here

Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as conjoined enclosures (diam. c. 25m), and situated on a terrace overlooking lower ground to the S and SE. Cashel (RO016-030001-) is overlain by the walls of a subrectangular field (int. dims 25.4m N-S; 21.2m E-W) defined by a stone spread (Wth 1-1.4m; H 0.2m) which has pushed out the perimeter of the cashel E-S, with traces of a second field attached to the S. There is a local tradition of human bones being found in the interior c. 1900. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
