What is recorded here

At the W end of an E-W ridge. Circular grass-covered platform (diam. 38m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 1.9-2m) separated by a fosse (at N: Wth of top 9m; Wth of base 6.7m; D 0.6m) from an outer bank (at N: Wth 3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.6m) SW-N-SE, which has been largely re-built. The entrance (Wth 4.5m) and causeway (Wth 3-4m) are at ESE, but the outer edge of the fosse is truncated by an E-W road bank at S, and the perimeter at SW has been quarried. Cashel (RO016-021002-) was built on the mound. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
