What is recorded here

Situated In improved pasture on a very gentle N-facing slope. It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is a small oval area (dims 17m E-W; c. 14m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at ESE: Wth of base 4.3m; Wth of top 1.3m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.25m) and outer fosse (at ESE: Wth of top 3.2m; Wth of base 1.4m; D 0.15m) NE-S-NW, but the perimeter is reduced to a low scarp (at N: Wth 3.2m; H 0.55m) NW-NE. There is no visible entrance. Despite its small size it may be a rath. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 12 May, 2015
