What is recorded here

Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on top of a broad drumlin. Traditionally regarded as two serpents turned to stone by St Patrick (O'Flanagan 1931, vol. 1, 112). Two large red conglomerate stones are incorporated side by side on the SW side of an overgrown NW-SE field bank. The N stone (L 2.1m; Wth 1m; H 0.7m) is immediately adjacent to the S stone (L 2.6m; Wth 1.4m; H 0.7m). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
