On the crest of a slight E-W ridge c. 100m from the N shore of the Callow Lough or Upper Lough Gara. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30m N-S; 28m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.3m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m) at W and by a scarp (H 1-1.4m) elsewhere. It is surrounded by a fosse (Wth of base 4.2-5.3m; D 0.2-0.75m), with an outer bank (Wth 3.1-3.3m; H 0.2-0.6m) NNW-NE and SE-SW. The outer bank and fosse are truncated by a N-S drain at E, and the fosse is occupied by an E-W farm track at S.
