A the W end of a low E- W ridge. Subcircular grass and scrub-covered area (dims 37m E-W; 32m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 5-6m; int. H 0.3-0.5m; ext. H 0.85-1.25m) separated by a water-logged fosse (Wth of top 4.5-6.2m; D 0.5-1.3m) from a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 2.2-2.6m; H 0.9-2m). This is surrounded by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of base 1.3m at W to 4m at E; D 0.5-1m) and an outer bank (at E: Wth 1.8m; H 0.8m). The entrance through the inner (Wth 3.8m) and central (Wth 4.5m) banks is at ESE. There is no evidence of the possible mound (RO008B001003-) (diam. c. 15m) marked just NW of the centre of the monument on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map (MA 63), nor of the possible entrance to a souterrain (RO008B001002-) in the bank at N noted by Gannon (1972). Earthwork (RO008B002----) is c. 70m to the ESE.
