What is recorded here

Visible on aerial photographs (OS 1 3320-1), and situated on level ground on the N bank of the W-E Boyle River, c. 750m from where it enters Lough Key. A raised grass-covered roadway (Wth 4.5-6m; H 0.2-0.4m) flanked by silted drains runs N from Drum Bridge towards the foothills of the Curlew Mountains (L c. 300m) where it might have connected with the road over the hills (RO006-001----), the nearest portion of which is c. 2.5 km to the NW. It might also have connected with the road (RO006-026004-) c. 400m to the SW and the road (RO006-077002-), c. 1.5 km to the S. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
