What is recorded here

Situated on S facing slope on high ground in upland area overlooking valley and river to the S. Circular area (diam 32m N-S) enclosed by a poorly preserved bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 1m) which is reduced to a scarp in places and a shallow waterlogged fosse (Wth 2.5m) with possible evidence for an entrance feature at SW. Heavy overgrowth makes examination of possible entrance feature impossible. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 May 2011
