What is recorded here

Situated on W facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Low natural looking irregular shaped earth and stone mound (diam. 13m E-W ; 10m N-S; ext. H 0.5m) which is best defined at W. May be the remains of a barrow however other similar natural looking mounds in the vicinity of this earthwork suggest that it may be of no archaeological significance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
